Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240 ml) plus 2 tablespoons (30 ml) all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) salt
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) butter or margerine softened
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup (240 ml) semi sweet chocolate chips.

Method

  1. Combine the flour, baking soda, and salt in a small bowl.
  2. Beat the butter, sugars, and vanilla in a large mixer bowl, then beat in the egg.
  3. Gradually beat in the flour mixture, then stir in the chocolate chips.
  4. Spread into a greased 8 in or 9 inch (23 cm) heart-shaped pan.
  5. Bake in a preheated 375 deg (190°C) oven for 18 to 20 min, or until light golden brown. Let stand for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool.
