Apple Crumb Cake Crumb Topping
A crumb topping forked into its own recipe per the archive's rule that accompanying components (glazes, marinades, rubs, sauces, etc.) are kept as standalone recipes. It also remains inline in Apple Crumb Cake, where it is originally used.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) unsalted butter, melted
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) light or dark brown sugar
- 1/3 cup (80 ml) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) kosher salt
- 1 1/3 cups (320 ml) all-purpose flour
Method
- To make the crumbs, whisk the butter, sugars, cinnamon, and salt together until evenly mixed.
- Add the flour and mix until it disappears. The mixture will be very thick; set it aside.
