Apple Butter Bars Cream-Cheese Filling
A cream-cheese filling forked into its own recipe per the archive's rule that accompanying components (glazes, marinades, rubs, sauces, etc.) are kept as standalone recipes. It also remains inline in Cream Cheese, Apple Butter Oat Bars, where it is originally used.
Ingredients
- 16 ounces (450 g) cream cheese, softened
- 1 & 3/4 cup (180 ml) granulated sugar, divided into 1 cup (240 ml) and 3/4 cup (180 ml)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon (15 ml) fresh lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons (10 ml) vanilla extract
Method
- Beat cream cheese and 3/4 cup (180 ml) sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer. When mixture is creamy, add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add lemon juice and vanilla extract. Beat until combined.
