Lemon-Sugar Almond Topping
A topping forked into its own recipe per the archive's rule that accompanying components (glazes, marinades, rubs, sauces, etc.) are kept as standalone recipes. It also remains inline in Coffee Cake with Lemon Cream Cheese Filling, where it is originally used.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup ( granulated sugar
- 1 1/2 teaspoons (7.5 ml) finely grated zest from 1 lemon
- 2/3 cup (160 ml) sliced almonds
Method
- For the Topping: Adjust oven rack to lower-middle position and heat oven to 350 degrees (175°C). Stir together sugar and lemon zest in small bowl until combined. Stir in almonds; set aside.
