Peanut Butter Frosting

A peanut butter frosting forked into its own recipe per the archive's rule that accompanying components (glazes, marinades, rubs, sauces, etc.) are kept as standalone recipes. It also remains inline in Peanutbutter Brownies, where it is originally used.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup (240 ml) chunky peanut butter (do not use natural or old-fashioned)
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, divided, room temperature
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) powdered sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon (0.5 ml) salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon (0.5 ml) ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract

Method

  1. Using electric mixer, beat peanut butter and 1/4 cup (60 ml) butter in medium bowl to blend. Beat in powdered sugar, salt, and nutmeg, then milk and vanilla. Spread frosting over brownies.
