Chocolate-Walnut Streusel Topping
A streusel forked into its own recipe per the archive's rule that accompanying components (glazes, marinades, rubs, sauces, etc.) are kept as standalone recipes. It also remains inline in Sour Cream Streusel Coffee Cake, where it is originally used.
Ingredients
- 2 ounces (55 g) 62% Cacao Semisweet Chocolate
- ½ cup (120 ml) brown sugar
- ¼ cup (60 ml) granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon (5 ml) cinnamon
- 1 cup (240 ml) toasted walnuts
Method
- Prepare the streusel mixture. Melt the 2 ounces (55 g) of chocolate in the top of a double boiler or in a bowl placed over a pan of simmering water. Stir until melted. Mix in the chopped, toasted walnuts until coated. Add in the sugars and the cinnamon.
